What the screener checks
It applies the label criteria: BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition, and it flags the absolute contraindications (medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 history, pregnancy) and the conditions that need individual assessment (pancreatitis, type 1 diabetes). It runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
What it cannot check
A clinician will also ask about kidney function, gallbladder disease, gastroparesis, diabetic retinopathy, depression or suicidal ideation, alcohol use, current medications (especially insulin and sulfonylureas, which raise hypoglycemia risk), and planned surgery (GLP-1s delay gastric emptying and anesthesia teams need to know). Passing the screener means you meet the label's basic criteria, not that a GLP-1 is right for you.
If you meet the criteria
The next step is a telehealth intake or a visit with your own clinician. The best GLP-1 telehealth page describes what the intake and approval process looks like and how providers differ on payment timing.
